Our Vision
Campus Outreach exists to glorify God by building laborers on the campus for the lost world
Glorifying God
The ultimate purpose of all of creation is to bring attention and glory to God (Isaiah 43, Psalm 33, Psalm 115, Romans 1 & 8, Ephesians 1, Revelation 5). There is nothing in all of creation more magnificent than God. Campus Outreach (CO) exists that He may receive the praise, honor, and love that is rightly due to Him. It is our desire that His greatness be proclaimed to all people, in all places.
Building Laborers
As He observed a large crowd of people gathered before Him, Jesus Christ once said, “The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37). It is clear that sin is still an issue today with all of the needs, problems, and challenges in the world. In other words, the harvest is still plentiful. Therefore, it is our desire to build life-on-life relationships with students in order that they would come to know Christ, mature as believers, and share their faith with others through evangelism and discipleship. We give our students the tools to do that and to develop into mature adults as they prepare to leave the college campus.
For the Lost World
Campus Outreach ministries on the college campus are a means to a greater end, not simply the evangelization of the campus, but making disciples throughout each segment of society all around the world - schools, hospitals, churches, grocery stores, governments, etc. We prepare our students to leave the college campus and live as mature believers in the real world. Our hope is that our students will graduate, mature in their faith with Christ, and continue to share that faith with their neighbors, coworkers, families, etc.
On the Campus
Campus Outreach believes that the university campus is one of the most strategic fields of ministry available in the world. There are at least four factors that make college ministry strategic:
Student Population Density is high, making it easier to meet and build genuine friendships with many people.
The Availability of the typical college student is higher than it will be at most other stages in their lives.
College students tend to have a greater openness to change than many age groups.
Many, and arguably most, of the future leaders in the world are today’s college students.
